Abu Hurairah (MAPH) reported: the Messenger of Allah (SAWS) said:

“The world is the believer’s prison and the 

infidel’s Jannah”.

Abdullah bin Umar (MAPH) reported: The Messenger of Allah (SAWS) took

 hold of my shoulders and said: “Be in the world like a stranger or a 

wayfarer”.


Ibn Umar (MAPH) used to say: “When you survive till the evening, do not 

expect to live until the morning; and when you survive until the morning, 

do not except to live until the evening (do good deeds) when you are in 

good health before you fall sick, and (do good deeds) as long as you are

 alive before death strikes”. (Al-Bukhari)


Commentary Hadith 1: As compared with the pleasures and luxuries, 

which are in store for a true believer in Jannah in the Hereafter, this world

 is a prison; and against the ceaseless torture that awaits the disbelievers 

in Hell, this world is a Jannah for them. It can also mean that the way a 

Muslim saves himself in life from lusts and desires and leads a pious life 

with fear of Allah, this world is a prison for him because he is fettered in 

the chains of rules and regulations, while a disbeliever is free from all 

kinds of restrictions and is completely given to lusts and desires, and this is

Commentary Hadith 2: A person who will consider this world as a 

temporary stage will certainly not like that his clothes be entangled in 

thorny bushes of this world. The greatest fault of man is that he does not 

understand this status of the world. In spite of the fact that he is not sure 

of a moment’s life here, he occupies himself in amassing goods and riches 

which would last for a hundred years.

Say: O People of the Scripture! Do ye blame us for aught else than that we 


believe in Allah and that which is revealed unto us and that which was 

revealed aforetime, and because most of you are evil-livers ?

Shall I tell thee of a worse (case) than theirs for retribution with Allah ?

 (Worse is the case of him) whom Allah hath cursed, him on whom His wrath 

hath fallen and of whose sort Allah hath turned some to apes and swine, and

who serve idols. Such are in worse plight and further astray from the plain 

road.

When they come unto you (Muslims), they say: We believe; but they came in 

unbelief and they went out in the same; and Allah knows best what they were 

hiding.

What hath brought you to this burning?

They will answer: We were not of those who prayed

Nor did we feed the wretched.

We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders,

Prophet Mohammed : Rasul-Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “A time will come when it will be said about a man how intelligent he is, and how cool he is, but there won’t be a single grain of Eemaan in his heart.”

Today we see that people in many walks of life are admired as being cool or brilliant; athletes, pop stars, actors, scientists, businessmen, entertainers, politicians, etc. Yet these are often people who exhibit no morality, conscience, character or taqwa. When the people that we look up to are devoid of the fear of Allah, undoubtedly our behaviour will model theirs. So seek refuge with Allah from making people who have no eeman in their hearts our role models.

Friday is the best Day of the week. It is the Mothers of all days and the most virtuous in the sight of Allah.In the sight of Allah it has more greatness than Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid –ul-Adha (Reported in Ibn Majah)

Who is better in religion than he who surrendereth his purpose to Allah 

while doing good (to men) and followeth the tradition of Abraham, the 

upright?  Allah (Himself) chose Abraham for friend.

--The Glorious Quran; 4; Surat An-Nisa; 125.

And your Lord (Allah) hath said: 

Pray unto Me and I will hear your prayer.  

Lo! Those who scorn My service, they will enter hell, disgraced.
